Strong, powerful imagery from this stunning young artist ensures she is not to be ignored. Her work challenges and intrigues, and compels us to consider our own attitudes and feelings as we enter a world of mystery. The current work of this fine young artist involves studio set creations of Fin de Siecle imagery, which she then photographs and prints onto aluminium. Sweeping ball gowns, controlling corsets, lace – all conspire with the artist – who makes many of the props and prosthetics herself – to create luxurious and elegant portraits. Ione has worked with Peter Randall-Page and was a finalist for the Terry O Neil Award – with her work featured in the Sunday Times Magazine. Her most recent exhibitions have been: London Affordable Art Fair; Eyestorm Gallery Exeter SW England; Mauger Modern Art Bath; Exeter Phoenix – solo – BIRDS FISHWIVES AND BUNNY GIRLS; New Designers, Business Design Centre and New Sreet gallery Plymouth. Ione exhibited with artspaces at the bowie gallery in October 2008 in a two person show with Sally Hunton, entitled Journey into the Imagination.
