Alice Leach’s art uses her life experience as inspiration for bodies of work ranging from drawing to painting, printmaking to visual poetry. Skilfully combining the written word with visual mediums, which could prove defeating for many people, has served to give Leach’s work a marvellous intimacy that resonates with many of us.
Alice Leach was born in London in 1968 and studied at Chelsea College of Arts and then at City and Guilds of London Art School, leaving with a First, and the executive committee prize for outstanding work. She joined the Dartington Print Workshop, under Michael Honnor, in 2006 and has won several printmaking prizes since. Her work is in numerous private collections including the Rothschilds, Jean Muir and Andrew Motion. Leach currently lives and works in Devon.
